Creating your band

Name your band, pick a public URL slug, and start the onboarding wizard.

Creating your band

The band is the unit Loadout organizes around. Your songs, your setlists, your gigs, your audience-request page — all of it lives on a band.

When you sign up, you land in the welcome wizard. Step one is naming the band.

In the welcome wizard

  1. Type your band name in the Band name field — exactly how you want it spelled on your public band page and on every invite email.
  2. Hit Next.

That's it. The band is created. You're the owner.

The band name is set during creation. Rename support is on the roadmap; for now, contact support if you need it changed.

What got created

  • A band record with a unique slug derived from the name (the-setlist-surgeons for "The Setlist Surgeons"). The slug is what shows up in your public band page URL loadout.band/the-setlist-surgeons and in gig-specific audience-request URLs like loadout.band/the-setlist-surgeons/r/pressbox-2026-06-01.
  • One band-member row: you, as owner.
  • A blank library (no songs yet) and a blank setlist list.

If you already had an account

Open the band dropdown in the top-right and pick Create new band. The same flow runs in the app proper — no wizard.

Tip: Bands aren't exclusive. You can be in more than one band on the same account, switch between them from the band dropdown, and Loadout keeps each band's library, gigs, and tips separate.
